| Avast! is an antivirus program that will scan your computer for maliscious documents and remove them to prevent any further damage coming to your computer. The free version provides all you need to be protected, however if you feel you would be better off paying for further protection you can upgrade to more premium packages. GUIDES TO AVAST! Types of scan available:
Quick - Performs a quick scan of your computers system volume and operating memory
Full System - Performs an in-depth scan of the system (thorough but slower)
Removable media scan - Scans all the removable media currently attached to the computer
Select Folder - Performs a full scan of a custom folder that the user selects
Click on the Bold text to view the guides
- SCANNING YOUR COMPUTER:
1. Click Scan computer on the left side
2. Select the type of scan
3. Wait for the scan to be completed
4. Follow the instructions Avast gives you depending on your results
- UPDATE AVAST:
1. Click MAINTENANCE on the left side
2. Click Update
3. Update Program
- EDIT SETTINGS:
1. Click Settings in the top right hand corner
2. Adjust settings that suit you most
- SITE BLOCKING:
1. Click ADDITIONAL PROTECTION on the left side
2. Click SITE BLOCKING
3. Click Enable site blocking
4. Enter address that you want blocked
