| Facebook is a social networking service and website, operated and privately owned by Facebook Inc. As of July 2011, Facebook has more than 800 million active users. Users must register before using the site, after which they may create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, including automatic notifications when they update their profile. Users can also join common interest profiles such as groups or pages. It is one of the most advance social networks out there and so it has a lot to offer. FEATURES  Chat - Facebook has its own chat client so that you can talk to others users who are online instantly
Status update - Users can update their status at any time letting everyone who is their friend know what they are thinking/doing
Like - Users can Like another persons photo/status etc to show appreciation of that action
Messages and Inbox - Messages can be sent privately to others
User Wall - Every user has a wall, others can post onto their wall so that everyone can see what they have posted
Groups - Groups can be created to add in specific people or to start up a new trend
Tagging - Users can upload photos in which they can tag people who are also in the picture
Events - Users can create events and invite their friends to it
GUIDES TO USING FACEBOOK
Creating an Account
Go to the Facebook home page - CLICK HERE
Fill out the Sign up form
Click Sign Up
Click the bold text to view guides (all guides start from the Facebook home page after you have signed in!)
- ADDING A FRIEND:
1. In the search bar at the top, enter that persons name
2. If the user does not come up as recommended, hit enter or click "See more results"
3. From this list if you still cannot see them, click People in the filters
4. You can narrow the search down even more with other filters
5. Once you find them, click +1 Add Friend, an invite will be sent to them and once they accept you will be friends
- POSTING A STATUS:
1. Click Update status and enter a message
2. Click Post
- POSTING ON SOMEONE'S WALL:
1. Go to that person's profile
2. In the box that says Write something... Write what you wish to say
3. Click Share
- USING CHAT:
1. In the bottom right hand corner of the webpage, you will see Chat
2. Click Chat
3. Find the person you wish to talk to, if they are online a green dot will be next to their name, otherwise they are offline
4. Click that persons name
5. Enter text into the box
6. Hit send
6. You will be notified by a flashing chat box and sound when they have replied
- EDITING YOUR PROFILE:
1. Access your profile by clicking on your profile name
2. Click Update info which is just below your cover photo
3. Edit the information as applicable
- CHANGING YOUR PROFILE PICTURE:
1. Go to your profile page by clicking your name
2. Click Edit profile
3. From here you can edit as much detail about you as you wish
4. Use the menus on the left side to enter more detail about you also
- EDIT PRIVACY SETTINGS:
1. In the top right hand corner of the page, there is a downward facing arrowhead, click it
2. Click Privacy Settings
3. From here you can completely edit who sees what on your profile
- UPLOADING A PHOTO:
1.Click Add photo/video
2. Select Upload photo/video
3. Enter a caption into the box and click choose file
4. Once the file has been chosen, click Post
- CREATING AN EVENT:
1. Search Events in the search bar (its the App)
2. Click it
3. Click +Create Event
4. Edit all of the details on the group and click Create event
5. You can edit the event once it has been made for further changes
- CREATING A GROUP:
1. Search Groups in the search bar
2. Click the App
3. Click +Create group
4. Edit all of the information you need including the privacy settings
5. Click Create
6. You can edit the group once if has been made for further changes
