| Yahoo Messenger (sometimes referred to as YIM) is an free instant messaging client which allows users to contact others by either text or other means such as video chat. Yahoo Messenger Features
 PC to Phone - call users telephones from your PC
Instant messaging to other contacts - Use text to chat with other users
File sharing - Send and receive files to others
Video chat - Allow others to see you and see others via the use of a webcam
Games - Play interactive games with others
GUIDE TO USING YAHOO MESSENGER Here are some guides. Click the bold text to drop down the instructions for each guide.
Yahoo Messenger has 4 main menus at the top of the program. These are: Messenger, Contacts, Actions and Help
- SIGNING IN:
1. Open up the yahoo program
2. Enter in your Yahoo ID and password
3. Click Sign In
- SIGNING OUT:
1. In the top menu, click Messenger
2. Click Sign out at the bottom
- ADDING A CONTACT:
1. In the top menu, click Contacts
2. Click Add A Contact
3. Enter in the details that you know
4. Choose what list you would like them to be a part of
5. Enter an introduction (optional)
6. Click Next
7. Click Finish
- CHATTING TO A CONTACT:
1. When a contact is online, they will be shown at visible
2. Double click their contact name
3. A window will pop up, enter text into the text box and click Send
4. Your message will be sent to the user
- DELETING A CONTACT:
1. Right Click a contact on your contacts list
2. Click Delete..
3. Click Yes
- CHANGING YOUR STATUS:
1. In the text box below your username, enter in some text and hit enter
- CHANGING YOUR DISPLAY PICTURE:
1. Click the current image
2. Click Display Image
3. Click share my image
4. Browse for an image of select a default one
5. Click Ok
- SETTING UP VIDEO AND AUDIO:
1. Click Messenger in the top menu
2. Click Preferences
3. Click Video & Voice
4. Use the drop down lists to change your settings and select the correct webcam and audio
